Everything Talks – Stories in Motion

February 25 – August 31 2025
Northern Norwegian Art Museum, Bodø, Norway

The exhibition “Everything Talks – Stories in Motion” presents artwork from the museum’s collection, from the 19th century to today, by artists with Northern Norwegian, Sami, Norwegian, and international backgrounds.
The gathering of historical and recent artworks explores current social issues, and brings the collection into new and old stories about the culturally diverse Northern Norway and the Sápmi area.
The exhibition has three themes:

“The look”, where the artists question power structures in society and how people throughout history have viewed each other, and how they view each other today. “Food security and food sovereignty”, and “Fish, gender and sexuality”.
Fish, gender and sexuality explores the connections between the resources and power of the ocean, as well as between fishing luck, faith and superstition, the fisherman’s work, and sexuality and gender.
Curated by Axel Wieder and Silja Leifsdottir.
