Lott/Lotto

Lott/Lotto exhibition at Nordnorsk Kunstsenter (North Of Norway Art Center), Svolvær, Norway

The Lott/Lotto exhibition is a mixture of felt sculptures, paintings, prints and whale and seal bones made of cast iron and plaster. A whale skull structure from a minke whale is one of the focal points.
Bones and skulls of whales and seals often play a role in Inghild’s art.
In this mixed-media exhibition, Inghild gives the remains of animals another kind of presence and the opportunity to mean something in a symbolic space.
Another central element in this mixed media exhibition is felt, in the form of several different sculptures, shapes and objects made of wool felt.
She started working with felt in the 1970s, while she was still a student, and since then, she has constantly returned to it.
The name Lott/Lotto is a mix of words related to luck and winning, and the plump bob used in fishing.
