On or In the Ocean

The Sami Centre for Contemporary Art presents Inghild Karlsen’s “On or In the Ocean” exhibition at the main exhibition hall, with some pieces shown for the first time in Karasjok. A group of sculptures is also moved outdoors at the Art Centre. By placing the sculptures outdoors, they will add artistic value for more people to enjoy.
Ingrid has a strong connection to this northern region of Norway, and several of her works are based on local handicraft techniques and materials. The landscape and the weather have a significant influence on her art. The troll crabs are an important element in this On or In the Ocean exhibition.
