The Dachshund on the Roof

The Dachshund on the rooftop at Old Hålogaland Theater Building, Tromsø, Norway
The Dachshund on the roof is one of the theatre’s two bronze mascots. The other is located in front of the new Hålogaland Theatre building on the quay. The bronze dachshund is watching over the theatre. It is placed on the old Rådstua building from 1864, where the first Hålogaland Theatre started in the 1970s.
The building is a versatile cultural hub that houses a restaurant and a theatre. This historic venue serves as a creative space for emerging artists while also accommodating concerts and film screenings. The building’s architecture has garnered praise from visitors exploring the city. It offers an intimate setting for choir performances and concerts with surprisingly impressive acoustics.
